Augustinsson, 24, has been on the national team for six years and has played 46 times for his country. Augustinsson joined Sevilla in 2021 from Werder Bremen, but has struggled for first team football in Spain. Gerrard has been keen to bring in two experienced players to compete for the left-back position.

Burton have been linked with a loan deal for Finland striker Jaakko Sinisalo. The 20-year-old, who has represented Finland at u17, u19, and u20 levels, is expected to earn valuable game time with Burton. The club currently have two senior goalkeepers in Ben Garratt and Callum Hawkins. With his arrival at Aston Villa, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will have more options in goal.
Ashley Young
Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Ashley Young, who rejoined the club on a free transfer from Inter Milan. The forward, who left the club in 2011 for Manchester United, won 38 goals in 190 appearances for the Villans. He was also capped by England 39 times, and travelled to Euro 2012 and the 2018 World Cup. Ashley Young was previously with Watford, but he left in 2010 and joined Inter, who won Serie A last season.
